Getting Festive With Morrisons Free-From Range.
Christmas arrived early in our house this year as I had the pleasure of receiving a selection of Morrisons Christmas free-from goodies including Mince Pies, Iced Fruit Cake Bar, adorable chunky Choccy Coins, White Chocolate, Ginger & Cinnamon Spiced Cookies and my personal favourite, Salted Toffee Shortbread.
Whilst current products such as chocolate brownies are delicious, they are now pretty much a given in the free-from market in general, so it is refreshing to see inspiring new flavoured products such as the White Chocolate, Ginger & Cinnamon Spiced Cookies and the Salted Toffee Shortbread.
Both are delicious for different reasons, the White Chocolate, Ginger & Cinnamon Spiced Cookies oozes festive appeal and the Salted Toffee Shortbread is an all year round biscuit that you could enjoy what ever the occasion. Both buttery, crunchy and studded with toffee pieces, this one is definitely going to have a regular spot in my biscuit tin.
The Choccy Coins went down a treat too but did not make it as far as our advent calendar due to the whole family devouring them in haste. They are much chunkier than regular chocolate coins which was also a bonus in my children’s eyes.
We enjoyed the Mince Pies both cold and after warming them in the oven. The pastry is light and not too heavy and the mincemeat was not too sweet either, a great balance. I am yet to work on the children liking mincemeat but I am not sure I liked it their age either.
Lastly, the Iced Fruit Cake Bar tasted fantastic. As soon as you opened the cute little box, the smell of festive spice filled the room. It was moist and genuinely delicious and I would challenge anyone to know that it is gluten-free. Good work Morrisons yet again.
Whilst Morrisons supplied theses products for me to sample, I have not been paid for this post and all opinions are my own.
